The Nursery is owned by Sara McLellan, a Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife.  She is also a parent, and understands the needs of parents and children.  Sara oversees the management of both nurseries and is very involved in the day-to-day running of them.  Sara is supernumerary, therefore available to talk to parents and to ensure that the nursery is well organised, happy and relaxed.  Each nursery is managed by a full time Manager, Lucy at Mile Oak and Jeanette at Amington.

A qualified member of staff runs each room in the nursery.  All staff have gained the Paediatric First Aid certificate, Safeguarding Children and various other qualifications to enhance their knowledge.  A few staff  are studying towards the Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies, leading to a Degree in Early Childhood Studies. (It is required by Government that every Setting has an Early Years Professional in place by 2015).

We occasionally have students from local colleges attending the nursery for their placements.  These students are studying for a qualification in childcare and are observed throughout their placement.

We have an experienced chef who plans delicious, nutritionally balanced meals for the children.  Special diets are also catered for.  A 4-weekly menu is displayed on the Parent’s Notice Board.
